The Authorized Person mentioned above will hereafter be referred to as "User."

"Under penalty of perjury, I swear/affirm that as of this moment, I am an adult, at least 18 years of age and my interest in becoming a GEIRS database user is a manifestation of my educational interest in ethnomedicine. I promise that I will not permit any person to have access to the GEIRS database by using my account or any of the materials contained within this site. I understand that when I gain access to this site, I will be exposed to descriptions of a individual intellectual property, which may include images or illustrations of plants used for healing. I am voluntarily choosing to do so, because I want to view, read and/or hear the various materials which are available, for my own personal enjoyment, information and/or education.

I am familiar with the ethical conduct standards in the scientific community regarding the acceptance of intellectual property rights. I understand the ethical conduct standards of CIEER website and the computer to which I am transporting this material, and am solely responsible for my actions. I will not profit, sell and/or in any way redistribute the contents of this site. I will not attempt to by-pass any security and/or access feature at this site.

Continuing past this point means that you understand and accept the responsibility for your own actions thus releasing the developers of GEIRS, this website as well as our service provider from all liability.

A. LIMITED LICENSE. The materials on this site are provided for personal, non-commercial use by users or potential users of the GEIRS database. Commercial use of this site, or any material located on it, is strictly prohibited.

CIEER reserves the right to terminate this license at any time if you breach the terms of this agreement, in which case you will be obligated to immediately destroy any information downloaded, printed or otherwise copied from this site. CIEER reserves all other rights coincident or related to this site.

B. ACCEPTABLE USE. CIEER maintains a portion of its site for "chat" educational purposes only. Although CIEER is unable to control third party content on this site, it is CIEER's policy to prohibit visitors from posting infringing, defamatory, libelous or otherwise unlawful material, or any material deemed obscene, lewd, excessively violent, harassing or otherwise objectionable. E. OWNERSHIP OF MATERIALS. All materials on the CIEER website are copyrighted and are protected under treaty provisions and worldwide copyright laws. GEIRS database materials may not be reproduced, copied, edited, published, transmitted or uploaded in any way without CIEER's written permission. Except as expressly stated in the limited license provision of these terms and conditions, CIEER does not grant any express or implied right to you under any of its trademarks, copyrights or other proprietary information.

F. JURISDICTION AND VENUE. This site is controlled and operated by CIEER from its offices in the United States of America. CIEER makes no representation that the materials available on this site are appropriate or available for use in other locations, and access to them from jurisdictions where their contents are illegal is prohibited. These terms and conditions are to be governed and construed by Florida law. In the event of a dispute arising out of or relating to these terms and conditions, or your use of or access to this site, litigation must be brought in state or federal court in the City and County of Alachua, Florida.
